Stop comparing and start living

We are constantly comparing ourselves, our accomplishments, our life and our belongings with others. Obviously, it is impossible to be the best at everything and when we find ourselves falling short; we become dissatisfied with ourselves and our accomplishments.

Don’t give in or entertain the feeling that the rewards for your past efforts were meager whereas others had a windfall. Don’t imagine that today’s efforts will reap inadequate rewards in the future. Instead of comparing, it would be better, if we did what we have to do with full involvement and passion.

As Shri Shri Nimishananda says “Whenever we compare, we are looking at an object, person or situation through the past. We often fall into this trap. Instead of relishing and enjoying every moment as it comes, we look at it through the lens of the past or the future and shatter its perfection.”
