Elsevier and Cell press have launched a new article prototype called “Article of the Future”. The idea is to take advantage of the latest advances in online publishing and present content or in this case scientific articles imaginatively.
They plan to garner the latest advances in visualization techniques and introduce a non-linear structure to the articles. They intend to embellish the content further by providing enhanced graphical navigation and integrate multimedia.
To get the scientific community’s feedback, Elsevier have developed two prototypes using two previously published articles of Cell Press.
The article prototypes can be viewed here.
